General Questions
What is Zenfl Job Alerts?
Zenfl Job Alerts is a Telegram bot that sends customized Upwork job alerts directly to your chat. It offers powerful filtering options to help you find the perfect projects quickly, giving you an edge over other freelancers by notifying you within minutes of new job postings.
How does Zenfl differ from Upwork's built-in job alerts?
Zenfl offers significantly more customization options than Upwork's native alerts:
- 40+ filtering options vs. Upwork's limited filters
- Real-time alerts within minutes of posting vs. Upwork's delayed batched notifications
- Custom filtering based on client history and quality
- Multiple specialized feeds for different skills or project types
- Visual feed builder with real-time job matching preview
- Webhook integration for custom automation
How quickly will I receive job alerts?
Job alerts are typically delivered within minutes of being posted on Upwork. The exact timing depends on Upwork's job refresh cycle and our processing queue.
Can I use Zenfl on desktop?
Yes! While the feed creation mini-app works best on mobile devices, you can receive job alerts on any Telegram client, including desktop versions for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Is Zenfl available worldwide?
Yes, Zenfl is available to freelancers worldwide. Certain filters like "Local Markets" are only relevant for US and UK freelancers, but all other features work globally.

Feed Creation and Management
Is there a limit to how many feeds I can create?
Currently, there is no limit to the number of active feeds you can create with a paid subscription.
How do I edit an existing feed?
Send the /feeds
command to the bot, then select the feed you want to edit and tap the "Edit" button.
What if I want to pause notifications temporarily?
Each feed has a "pause" button that allows you to temporarily disable the feed. You can enable it again when you need it. Note that the "muted" option doesn't stop notifications but changes how they are delivered.
Can I duplicate a feed and modify it?
Yes, each feed has a "duplicate" button that creates an exact copy of the feed, which you can then modify as needed.
What's the difference between "muted" and "paused" feeds?
- Muted feeds still send you notifications but without sound alerts
- Paused feeds completely stop sending any notifications until you unpause them
Can I export and share my feed settings?
Yes, there is an "export" button that allows you to export your feed settings and send them to others. You can also import a feed by sending the feed settings file to the bot.
Filters and Search
What is "Strict Mode" and when should I use it?
Strict Mode controls how missing data is handled:
- With Strict Mode enabled, jobs missing data for any of your filters will be excluded
- With Strict Mode disabled, you'll still receive jobs that match your criteria but might be missing data for some filters
For example, if you set a minimum budget filter, but a job doesn't specify a budget, Strict Mode will exclude it while non-strict mode will include it.
How does keyword search work?
Keyword search allows you to filter jobs by words in the title, description, or required skills:
- ALL words: Job must contain all specified keywords (most restrictive)
- ANY words: Job must contain at least one of the specified keywords
- NONE words: Job must not contain any of the specified keywords (useful for excluding irrelevant jobs)
For best results, add keywords as separate items (e.g., "react", "frontend", "developer") rather than a single string.
What strategy do you recommend for creating effective feeds?
We recommend an exclusion-first approach:
- Start with broad settings
- Check the "Jobs" tab to see what matches
- Identify patterns in irrelevant jobs
- Add exclusion filters using "NONE" conditions
- Gradually refine until you're satisfied with the results
The "Jobs" preview tab is your best tool for fine-tuning feeds.
How can I make sure my feed isn't too restrictive?
Always check the "Jobs" tab in the mini-app after making changes to your feed settings. This preview shows which current jobs match your criteria, helping you identify if your feed is too restrictive.
Technical Questions
What is a webhook and why would I use it?
A webhook is a way to have job alerts sent directly to your own applications or services. This allows for custom processing, integration with your workflow, or automated actions when new jobs appear.
Note that webhooks are a paid feature limited to subscribers, with 1,000 requests included monthly and additional requests billed at $0.01 per job alert.
How secure is my data?
We take data security seriously. We only collect the information necessary to provide our service, and we don't share your personal data with third parties. For details, please see our Privacy Policy.
Why am I not receiving job alerts?
Several factors could cause this:
- Your feed filters might be too restrictive
- Your feed might be paused
- There might be temporary issues with Telegram notifications
Try checking your feed settings, ensuring your feed isn't paused, and verifying your Telegram notification settings. You can also use the "Jobs" tab to see if any current jobs match your criteria.
Can I use Zenfl with services other than Upwork?
Currently, Zenfl is specialized for Upwork jobs only. We may expand to other platforms in the future.
Can I get banned on Upwork for using Zenfl?
No. There is no direct connection between you and Upwork when using Zenfl, so there is no way for Upwork to detect that you are using our tools. Zenfl simply monitors public job listings and sends you alerts based on your preferences.
